The vast majority of DJ/MC's are typically interested in the same old stuff.  Super powerful speakers and an emphasis on mostly current music. It all makes sense. Since the average age of the typical DJ is between 18 & 23 years of age the emphasis is going to be on ear splitting sound and not quality or presentation.
